<mods:abstract>Parker Pillsbury writes William Lloyd Garrison that their "few friends" in Concord wish to host an anti-slavery convention, and request Garrison and Wendell Phillips' presence. Pillsbury adds his wish that Charles Lenox Remond be in attendance. Pillsbury declares that even with the three of them on the bill, he fears that they would be unable to cover "more than base expenses", given how the people of New Hampshire "never know how to give" and "never had very much to give". Pillsbury asserts that the New Hampshire State Legislature is as "full of unfledged Caleb Cushings" as a "cheese of maggots". Pillsbury notes that the disorganization of New Hampshire's abolitionist movement leaves the field wide open for their efforts.</mods:abstract>
