  <mods:abstract>A political cartoon entitled, "In Memoriam - Chair City, Gardner Massachusetts" drawn by W. Joseph Carr and dated March 9, 1982. The cartoon shows a hazardous waste drum in an overgrown field with a chair on top. The drum's waste is leaking and drips down the side to the ground below. Joseph Carr was a noted furniture designer, artist, cartoonist and sculptor from Gardner, Massachusetts. He worked for the Heywood-Wakefield Company as a furniture designer from 1936 till the company closed its doors in 1979. He also did freelance furniture designs for a variety of furniture companies including S. Bent &amp; Brothers, Inc.</mods:abstract>
