<mods:abstract>1898 guidebook "Walks and Rides in the Country Around Boston" describes the woods as follows: "A little way below its start at Pound Street is a piece of wild woods on the left, embraced in the Wright Estate, which we have mentioned as facing upper Boylston street and locally known as Wright's Woods." Fairway Road and Hilltop Road are where the woods used to be and are south of Route 9.</mods:abstract>
