1970 copy of picture taken of the Whately Hotel owned by Micajah Howes and his wife Pamelia A. (Parker) Howes. Came to Whately in 1869, employed by AW Crafts who ran the store in that hotel. Few years later Mr. Howes bought the inn. Ryland his son was later in partnership with him. Hotel burned 1894 was soon rebuilt, sold again in 1898. Sept. 28, 1915 death of Mr. Howes. Sept. 29, 1915 death of Mrs. Howes. Both were great in the Whately church.
