  <mods:abstract>A road on the outskirts of a Sussex village. A cart advances under trees near some farm buildings on the left. On the right is a long, low shed with a wall in front of it. In the distance are the downs. The roofs are shaded and the patches among the foliage are filled up. The trees beyond the long roof on the right are still light and unfinished. There are very few lines on the road, and in the left lower corner a triangular space remains quite empty to the maximum height of 22 mm. Done in June 1908 from a drawing made in Sussex in the early Spring.</mods:abstract>
