Grandfather (Clifford) - 3rd row up - center - with beard and wearing Derby hat. How happy [text cut off]. Uncle Jim - 2nd row - left of center - much dark hair - no hat. James Beglin - 3rd row - second from left - a mason. Shadow Brook. These two pictures are presented to the Lenox Library Aug. 2, 1955, by Mrs. Ruth Clifford Downs, formerly of Lenox. As we moved into Shadow Brook in Sept. 1894, the pictures must have been taken that spring or late the previous fall. - A.P.S. Father had told me that many of the stones which I understand were cut right there were five sided. Father also once said to me once, The Cliffords need no monuments. They are scattered about the hillsides" handwritten on back of print.
