Notes:
Groveside was the residence of the Bridgewater State Normal School's principal, Albert G. Boyden, and his family. Boyden served as principal of the school from 1860 to 1906; he was succeeded in the principalship by his son, Arthur C. Boyden. From 1906 until his death in 1916, A. G. Boyden served as principal emeritus and continued teaching. Groveside was located next to a wooded area known as the Normal Grove, near the campus park and pond. The house stood near the corner of Park Avenue and Summer Street in Bridgewater, where Pope Hall, a college dormitory, now stands.
