<mods:note>Origin: Written in Italy in the mid-15th century. The sequence of epistles in collections such as this varies significantly from manuscript to manuscript; the order in the present copy is very similar to that in several other 15th-century Italian collections: London, British Library Burney 322; Florence, Bibl. Medicea Laurenziana, Plut. XIX, cod. 12; and Milan, Bibl. Ambrosiana, C.250.Inf. The list of chapter headings on fol. 1-2 is not always correct, and includes several extra entries (in particular, the capitula list includes a series of eighteen epistles to or from Augustine that are not included in the manuscript but that are found in the three Italian manuscripts listed above). The folio numbers added by a later hand in Roman numerals are correct, with no numbers having been added to the capitula of the missing epistles. This may imply that the capitula list was copied from a different manuscript, perhaps the exemplar of the present copy, without reference to the actual contents of the book.</mods:note>
