Throughout the state of New Mexico mud bricks, or adobe, continues its reign as the "alternative" building materials. In this ¡Colores!, other unique construction techniques are explored. Carmen Velarde builds a fireplace (Taos, New Mexico), Michael Reynolds creates Earthships made of tires and dirt (Taos, New Mexico), Virginia Carabelli developed the Strawbale House with the first construction permit granted by a state agency (Chupadero, New Mexico), and Eric Patterson builds with Paper Adobe (Silver City, New Mexico).
