This is a transcript of an interview with James A. Bridges. Audio of this interview is not available. Robert C. Hayden, history professor at Northeastern University and President of RCH Associates, interviewed thirty-two retired Boston African American railroad workers from 1988-1989 as background research for 'The Knights of the Rail,' a special permanent exhibition which opened in 1991 at the MBTA Back Bay Station. This collection includes typed transcripts of twenty-seven of those interviews.
