Large collection of documents related to food conservation during and after World War I. Some of the documents describe how important it is to save food for the soldiers, and how necessary it is for ordinary people to save. Other documents describe how to replace rationed foods with foods in more plentiful supply. Foods such as wheat, fats, sugar, and meat were encouraged to be used less. Many of the documents are from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and U.S. Food Administration.
