At the time when this pamphlet was produced, Springfield College admitted female students but did not sanction varsity teams or interscholastic competition for women. Women were, however, encouraged to take part in “hockey, basketball, and volleyball playdays with Mt. Holyoke, the University of Massachusetts, the University of Connecticut, Wheaton, Wellesley, Clark University and various other New England colleges.” Each page describes a different sport offered to Springfield College women, as well as information about that sport’s season, practice schedule, and tournament. The pamphlet also lists the organization’s officers and describes the organization’s special events. Cartoons drawn by an unknown artist decorate nearly every page. This pamphlet was likely published in the fall of the 1955-1956 academic year, as the freshman representative had not yet chosen.
