Auger received her juris doctor from Northeastern University in 1939 and was given an honorary Doctor of Laws in 1991. She became a member of The Corporation in 1971, Board of Trustees in 1972, and a lifetime trustee emerita in 1988. She was also the vice chair and chair of the Alumni's National Council.
