Photograph of the Crescent Hill Zouaves Fife & Drum Corps from Arlington Heights. Taken in front of the Arlington Heights Railroad Station, now the parking lot of Arlington Coal & Lumber Co. and was probably taken by WIlliam O.J. Doane, a local photographer. The corps was founded in 1907 in time for the June 1st Centennial parade. However they were not yet uniformed for that parade. This picture my then be from the fall of 1907. Boys stand in formation of three rows, with a flagger just ahead. Wearing uniforms of fez hats, bolero jackets with applique design on forearms, long waist sashes, tied to the side, with long tasses at the base. Walter E Schwamb ( left rear) & cousin Edward Schwamb (right rear).
