A copy of an except of a letter Front: West Cambridge, Sept. 6, 1824 Copied from a letter written to a little girl at Bradford Academy "There was much excitement in the City and Villages on Account of Ge. La Fayette's visit, but I have not time nor inclination to give a description, suffice to add we were favoured with a view of his carriage from out window without any trouble when on the way to Lexington. I dar'd not manifest a welcome even with my handkerchief- being alone. Had you been near we would have waved together. This great friend to our land of Liberty is now on his way to N. York where new honors await his acceptance. On Wednesday next the Gen. is to be at New Haven."
