Letter from Benjamin Smith Lyman to J. Peter Lesley
Description:
Lyman appreciates the infrequency of Mr. Lesley's letters. He writes of a variety of social visits with French acquaintances interested in American and European politics, including events at Harper's Ferry and Napoleonic treaties. Lyman describes the New Year festivities in Paris, and the process of learning enough French to understand the lectures at the school of mines.
