Benjamin Locke (many imperfections) - English. This gun was carried by Capt. Benjamin Locke (Aug 5, 1738 - Dec. 7, 1791). Capt. Locke was born at the "Feet of the Rocks" Menotomy, now Arlington. he was captain of a company of minutemen at Lexington and Bunker Hill. Presented in 1924 to the Arlington Historical Society by the children of Benjamin Delmont Locke (1828-1904) and his brother, William Henry Locke (1837-1917). The brothers, who descended from Deacon William Locke, who came from Stephney Poersh, England, in 1634. Members of the Locke family who lived in Arlington from 1748 to 1900.
