Noting that attendance at various weekly gatherings has diminished due to the departure of several regular participants to far off places, as well as discussing the health and excursions of Mr. Lesley's brother Joe, and of his sister's family (the Stilwells), and the attendence of four ladies at the meeting of the Academy of Natural Sciences. Letter accompanied a New York Times clipping with an "account of Mr. Hodge's unpleasant adventure in Montana."
