Minute Book of the Massachusetts Homeopathic Fraternity
Description:
Formed by Samuel Gregg and a handful of other pioneer practitioners, the Massachusetts Homeopathic Fraternity met monthly at the homes of its members to discuss cases and exchange information. It came to have over eighty members and eventually developed into the Massachusetts Homeopathic Medical Society. Most of the Fraternity's members were graduates of Harvard Medical School; the minutes of a meeting on September 3, 1844, record a postponement due to a Harvard alumni anniversary celebration. Excerpt from the Massachusetts Homeopathic Fraternity Minute book, 1840-1846, showing the meeting notes from September 3, 1844
