Regarding the episode during the Student-Faculty Conference of the American Student Christian Movement (the National Student Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A.) at the Book-Cadillac Hotel in Detroit; notes that "thirty Negro delegates" were in attendance and it became "apparent that an effort at segregating Negroes on the seventh floor of the hotel was well under way;" considers the protest of the segregation.
