A printed letter from the President of the Philosophical Society. He addresses the Society's commitment to an experiment with the meeting schedule, notifies members of papers to be read at upcoming meetings, and announces a meeting in cooperation with the Library Company of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, the Academy of Natural Sciences, and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, which will be held to "commemorate the life and work" Mr. Henry C. Lea." The included envelope is addressed to Lyman in Philadelphia.
