London relates Mr. Gilbertson's response to Lyman's article on Japanese swords. He details three of Gilbertson's variant theories: one regarding the signature on a blade, another that provides evidence against file markings as evidence of province of origin, and the last regarding the purpose of "mekugi holes." London notes that he has not seen Mr. Thurkle, and describes the busy schedule of the cutler. The included envelope is addressed to Lyman in Philadelphia.
