A letter from Dirk J. Van Bommel to Laurence L. Doggett, dated March 10, 1916. In a very straight forward letter, Van Bommel Tells of all the difficulties that he is having getting anything done as the Turkish Government did not allow him to do anything of importance. He also talks about the Armenian Genocide.

Dirk J. Van Bommel graduated from Springfield College in 1911. After graduation, he worked as a secretary for the International Committee in Constantinople. In 1920, Springfield College awarded him an honorary Master of Humanics. Two years later, Van Bommel was hired as secretary to the National Council in Turkey. He died on November 9, 1953.
