In an address to the Emergency Civil Liberties Committee Du Bois remarks on the nature of the production of wealth throughout the history of the United States. He comments on the influence of large corporations on our elections, on churches, and on education and warns that since the production of wealth is always a mass effort the excessive accumulation of wealth by individuals is a threat to our democracy.
