Letter from Robert E. Dillon to Henry Dillon and Mary Dillon
Description:
Addressed to "Dear Folks." Handwritten on Camp Lee, Virginia, stationery. Admonishes his mother (Min) for worrying that he might get into the "fighting corp." Dillon reminds her that "there is a war on" and tells her if everyone had her attitude, all of the people in the service would "sit on their fannies and let someone else fight the war." Life at the camp offers plenty of ways for him to entertain himself, as does the nearby town of Petersburg.
