Half of the front page is cut out and missing. Also contains text of Special Order No. 600, regarding the appointment of Charles F. Blake to deal with deserters; a notice from the war department in Washington D.C.; and an extract from General Orders No.72, regarding furlough of paroled prisoners. [August 20, 1862] 2. "General Order, No. 30." Printed document regarding furlough, soldiers leave, and the penalties for being considered a deserter. Contains several short letters from different military personal. 3. "List of Deserters, Discharged, and Deceased Soldiers, from 59th Reg't Volunteers" Contains a single name, Arthur Boyer, listed as having deserted. 4. "Special Order, No. 600" Printed document containing the entire text of the order.
