<mods:abstract>This a 16mm film titled "Men of Muscle" produced and published by RKO Radio Pictures and directed by Bert Cunningham on Springfield College. The film is about 8 minutes long and is black and white. The exact date of the film is not known but it is thought to have been filmed sometime between the mid-thirties and 1940. The film talks about Springfield College's focus on coaching and the athlete from the intellectual angle. There are scenes with students in classrooms being taught, including some shots of Peter V. Karpovich doing an experiment, a wrestling class, a football class, and the SC varsity basketball team running drills while being coached by Ed Hickox. The final scenes are of the gymnasts performing and being coached by Leslie Judd and of some Tableaux's.</mods:abstract>
