Burr, Jr. The letter had a newspaper article that appears to have either been sent with the letter or was somehow attached to the letter that is dated January 11, 1958 from the Springfield Daily News. The article talks about his death and his attachments to Springfield, Massachusetts.

John H. Burr was born June 1, 1898 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Springfield College, then the International YMCA College in 1923. After graduation he went to Howard University where he eventually became the director of Physical Education. He was a veteran of World War I and is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery.
