<mods:abstract>A brochure of a program offered by the Springfield College International Academy for the Tokyo YMCA Physical Education College student in Japan. The program was to be divided into three phases. The first phase was to take place from July 25 to August 13, 1988. This phase was meant for students who had finished their first year of studies at Tokyo YMCA Physical Education College. This introductory program was meant to provide students with a general knowledge on the specialty they would like to pursue. English as a Second language classes would be embedded in the program as well. Phase two was to take place from May 11 to August 13, 1989. In this phase students would attend freshman camp, and then enter their chosen area of specialization and begin classes. Finally, phase three was going to take place from September 1988 to March 1990. In this final phase, students would work in their chosen concentration in depth. The summer program was a coordinated effort by Professor Charles Smith and Dr. Kenneth A. Wall (director of the college’s international center), together with representatives of the Tokyo YMCA Physical Education College.</mods:abstract>
