  <mods:abstract>Edward Hitchcock, Jr. note in which he states that there were no Amherst Academy catalogs in the years 1844-1846 but during a part of this time Daniel T. Fiske and Jeremiah Taylor were in charge of the academy and Elizabeth C. Adams was preceptress. This note was previously in the "Hitchcock memorabilia volume," a bound volume compiled by Edward Hitchcock, Jr. The memorabilia volume was disbound and the covers are in Box 1 Folder 3 of this collection while the remaining contents are in Box 1 Folders 5-13 of this collection.</mods:abstract>
