Since Clint moved to the 3rd battalion he's become acquainted with "Mose" Harrison, one of the officers there, who remembers Rhea and speaks well of her. The town where he is staying has seen its share of shelling, and two shells in particular struck the church but did not explode. They're 3 feet long and six inches in diameter and they hang in the church with an inscription describing the event. He asks her how her French is coming and says that many people where he is don't understand "good French" and he can hardly communicate with them. They Y.M.C.A put on a show for them and he describes the singer, who reminded him of Rhea.
