<mods:abstract>Clint tells his "dear friends" that he received their kind letter and he appreciates all the thoughtful letters he has received since his father's death. His father was always "a marvel" to him and even though he is gone his influence on Clint will remain. He is now the attending dental surgeon at the First Army headquarters, which are set to cease functioning on April 20th. He hopes that his request to be sent home will be approved since he believes his place is there, supporting his mother.</mods:abstract>
