Herman went to Shirley to go to church for Easter Sunday with Aunt M. and Uncle F. and had dinner with them afterwards. The boys in the camp have been cleaning it up for visitors and Herman has been busy with classwork so he hasn't had to clean, but he has been learning how to dig trenches. Aunt Mattie has been cleaning too and her flowers are starting to bloom. A bunch of new recruits came in on Friday and a group of black recruits from the south are expected soon. He asks to be sent his brown baseball glove and he saw the movie "Babes in the Woods" and thought it was fine. The 4th battalion beat the 3rd in a baseball game and he thought Perlia's painted post card was very nice.
