Herman writes that it has been bitterly cold, -20F according to his sources. He talks about the camp Christmas decorations and wishes Perlia could have seen them. He details their Christmas dinner and his trip to visit Aunt Mattie, and mentions that he's writing with a borrowed pen from a fellow who is home sick for a week. Thermometer has been hanging at 20 below for several days and some men have gotten frozen ears and noses. He got to see a concert by the Boston Symphony and it was very good.
