Ethel has heard that they can't send packages anymore without approval from a commanding officer, although they can still send letters and magazines. She talks about what magazines she plans to send him and the health of the folks at home. The girls have gone to listen to a lecture by "ace" aviator Mr. Bishop, but she was tired and decided not to go. There are other lectures she plans to go to. It's gotten cold and the skating is good.
