  <mods:abstract>Springfield College produced this program for a commencement ceremony held in May 1944. During World War II, Springfield College had multiple graduation ceremonies to help facilitate the transfer dates of students leaving for service in the War. This is one of multiple ceremonies for 1944.The pamphlets traditionally list the graduates, along with their hometowns and majors. It also generally provides the exact day and location for the ceremony, as well as the names of the guest speakers, a calendar of events, and a brief biography for each of the honorary degree recipients. Some of the programs also provide the lyrics to Springfield College songs and chants.</mods:abstract>
