<mods:abstract>This photograph depicts a group portrait of attendees at the YMCA Physical Directors’ conference held in Dayton, Ohio in October 9, 10, 11 and 12, 1894. This picture may have been taken on the tenth, as a note on the back of the photograph says, "Day two Scts Conf 1 grp 4". The men are sitting in four rows for the portrait. According to a report from the Secretary of the YMCA Physical Department, Dr. Luther Gulick, at the Dayton Conference Dr. Gulick presented a series of addresses on the Study of Boys. Much of this was original work. He may be in the upper row on the far right. (YMCA Yearbook and Rooster, 1898-1901).</mods:abstract>
<mods:note>A penned caption on the back reads "Secretaries Conf. 1894 Dayton". Another pencilled caption reads "Day two Scts Conf 1 grp 4".</mods:note>
