This photograph depicts a visit to the The Brightwood Slaughter House in Springfield, Mass., that was located where the Babson Library parking lot of Springfield College now resides. The slaughter house was owned by William R. Purple. Purple sold the property to the school and, later, Luther Gulick build his home there. The Gulick residence, when Gulick left the College, became the home for President Doggett. Some time after Dr. Doggett's retirement in 1936, the building was reconfigured to house the Student Center. In the early 1970's, the building was removed to accommodate the parking area for the newly constructed Babson Library (according to "The Springfield College Family Album", by Dr. Richard C. Garvey, p.19). Those pictured include: [left to right, standing] William F. Mertens (Class of 1900), Joseph H. Sawyer (Class of 1901), Frank N. Seerley (Class of 1890, Professor of Psychology and Physiology 1890 - 1915), Albert M. Chesley (Class of 1900), Arthur Leyland (Class of 1901),
