In this program the viewer sees a Fuller geodesic dome constructed. A stop-motion film compresses the five-hour construction job into a brief sequence, and gives a clear view of this design, which covers a maximum of area with a minimum of structure. Demonstrating the geodesic idea, Mr. Fuller points out that his geometry is based on sixty-degree angles rather than the conventional ninety-degree angles, and that the main structural element of his buildings is the triangle. He then gives his own definition of mathematics and explains that his goal is to find out how to do the most with the least. (Description adapted from documents in the NET Microfiche) R.
