In 1993, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, the annual fundraising gala known as Cultura Viva was held at the Wang Center for the Performing Arts (now called the Citi Performing Arts Center). Here, couples dance to the music provided by Eddie Palmieri, a Grammy Award winning bandleader and pianist, and his orchestra.
