Part 1 of 2) Interview between Robert Potash and General Alejandro Agustín Lanusse with the participation of General Tomás Sánchez Bustamante. Topics include Lanusse’s enlistment and advancement in the military, covering his activities in Campo de los Andes Army Base, "Regimiento Granaderos" (Granaderos' Regiment), "Escuela de Caballería" (Cavalry School), "Escuela de Guerra" (War School) and his promotion courses. He also addresses the relationship between the army and the government, indicating that this period was characterized by political instability that often resulted in the deposition of presidents. He focuses on his relationship with Perón and the conspiracies organized to overthrow him, and also shares his experiences in jail and thoughts about politicians and democracy. Also covers the presidential line of successions after Perón constituted by Lonardi, Aramburu, Frondizi, Guido, Illia, and Onganía. The interview was originally recorded on three audiocassettes, and it cuts abruptly at transition points, on tape 1 at 00:30:56, on tape 2 at 00:31:43, and on tape 3 at 00:31:14, before continuing. It is also incomplete, and ends abruptly.
