The National Archives at Boston provides access to and preserves the permanently valuable historical records of Federal agencies based in the New England states. Among our holdings are photographs of the Watertown Arsenal, which operated in Watertown, Massachusetts from 1816 to 1995. This series, National Archives Identifier 2658417, includes black and white photographs and negatives of arsenal buildings and grounds, events and awards ceremonies, armaments and artillery, and equipment and laboratories dating from 1908-1984. Also included are photographs of visits to the facility by Presidents John F. Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt, General Douglas MacArthur, and Senator Leverett Saltonstall.
