Cape Cod Association Collection, 1851-1969
The Cape Cod Association was founded in 1851 to "encourage and promote among all the native born and descended of Cape Cod, temperance, industry, sincerity, good humor, charity, the social affections and generous sentiments." In 1877, the Association shifted its focus from social activities and events to begin a scholarship program that today continues to support hundreds of students from the Cape and Islands. The collection includes the Association's constitution and by-laws, meeting minutes, financial records, and student records. The student records include applications for assistance, correspondence, and newspaper clippings. A portion of the student records is restricted due to privacy considerations.
