This collection represents a photograph index documented on land survey plans of 1,432 real estate photographs of the Massachusetts Metropolitan Water Works (MWW) taking of land for the Wachusett Reservoir between 1896 and 1898. The Massachusetts Metropolitan Water Board took land in the towns of Boylston, Clinton, Holden, Sterling, and West Boylston for the Wachusett Reservoir, a water supply reservoir for metropolitan Boston. The collection includes 71 blueprints and 1 general sheet index. Each blueprint is annotated with the MWW Photograph Number and direction of the photograph on the land survey plans, which document land owners. The lowest MWW photo number on the plans is No. 140 and the highest is No. 2413.
