Donated by Brian Riley in January 2021. These papers were collected by Pauline Dunham (later Mrs. Riley), who was the mother of the donor. She served as a U.S. Coast Guard SPAR in Boston during WWII. SPARs were the USCG Women's Reserve formed in 1942 and disestablished in 1946. It was a sister organization to the U.S. Navy's WAVES. Ten thousand women served as SPARs during the war.
