The Assessor's Plan Books document Worcester's parcels, showing boundaries, ownership, taxable square footage, roadways, and lot numbers from their earliest creation up to the transition to the City's modern GIS system.
These maps are referenced directly in some deeds by their plan book and page number. This correlates directly to the Map, Block, Lot system we still use as a holdover from these very mylars. MBLs are read as MM-BBB-LLLLL. For example, the parcel 23-035-00003 will be found on Plan Book 23, Page 35, and it will be the lot numbered 3.
