In 1986, under the direction of Judith Palfrey, M.D., the Project School Care team developed supports for families and school systems to provide educational opportunities for children who were assisted by medical technology. The team provided consultation, conducted research, and developed the first of its kind resource manual for those caring for children with special health care needs. In 2019, the project lives on with state wide support and a third edition of the guideline manual!
