Extract of letter handwritten by unknown person. Whereabouts of original manuscript written by Anne Warren Weston is unknown.
Anne Warren Weston reports an inquiry from the Executive Committee in New York in respect to their agents remaining in Massachusetts, and the reply of the Board of the Massachusetts Society to the effect that they wish all of the National Society's agents withdrawn, otherwise they would not pay the $5000 agreed upon. Anne remarks on the more or less good behavior of several men at the meeting in New York--"Whittier so so"--and considers "all the rest of the Committee awful. [James G.] Birney in particular."
