Hurricane history on Martha’s Vineyard. Storm tracks and Fujita damage levels for major hurricanes (1620-2000). Storms with stronger winds and greater damage pass to the west of the Island. Some storms in eastern New England that had minor importance for most of the region, such as 1635, 1770, and 1991 (Bob), exerted substantial impacts on the Vineyard and much of the southeast coast. Tropical storm Irene (2011) is included in the storm tracks map due to its discussion in the text.
