Fritz Giese (1859-1896) was a Dutch cellist. At age 19 he joined the Mendelssohn Quintet Club of Boston. He also played in the Boston Philharmonic Club and its successor the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In 1885, he formed his own string quartet. He was succeeded by Anton Hekking, who had studied with his father. He died at the age of 37, due to alcohol abuse.
